After traveling through four major cities in Maharashtra the Maha Marathon is gearing up to arrive at Pune on 17th February 2019, sporting a medal that is truly becoming worthy of the ‘Maha’ tag.
Lokmat is celebrating its centennial year of being the voice of Maharashtra and the Indian people and the year camewith added glory of Lokmat being announced as the No. 1 publication in Pune. To celebrate the occasion with our runners we are proud to release a ‘Limited Edition Medal for all the runners running the Maha Marathon in Pune in the 2018-19 season.
The medal, symbolizing this unique journey of the publication and the marathoners depicts the runner in the medal as a newspaper vendor! The humble newspaper boy who is hardworking, dedicated, committed fellow; early to rise; first to hit the roads; running his route until his job is done; getting back home before most of the city has woken up. For us, that is the story of every runner, who decides to endure pain and labors for long hours before he carries home the satisfaction of a job well done.
The runner in the medal is depicted in a full-stretch stride. That is the message of the Lokmat Pune MahaMarathon – that it doesn’t matter what your 100% is, it only matters that you go ahead and give it your best. It is also a powerful reminder that runners run not only with their legs and their bodies, they run with the strength of their mind and their heart.
And this special edition medal enshrines it in bronze!
